Your money practice stays yours
MoneyWise is a financial-education app for 13 to 18 year olds. Everything inside it is fictional: balances, budgets and transactions are simulated in AED, and the app is never connected to a bank account, a card or a real payment. The information below explains what the app stores, why, and how to have it removed.
What MoneyWise stores
- Your account details — the email address you sign up with and how you sign in. If you use Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple to sign in, that provider confirms who you are; MoneyWise only receives the basic account information needed to sign you in.
- Your profile — the name or nickname you choose, your age, and the avatar items you pick.
- Your money practice — the monthly amount you set, the plan you build, the spending you log, your savings goals and transfers, and the strategies and simulations you record.
- Your learning progress — the lessons, knowledge checks, concepts, badges and level points you complete.
- A family link, if you or a guardian starts one — the email addresses on both sides of the invitation and whether it was accepted, declined or removed.
- A message you send through the contact form — the name, email address and text you type.
Why it is stored and how it is used
To run the app you asked for: to show your own figures back to you, to keep your progress between visits, to let a linked guardian see how the money practice is going, and to reply if you write to us. It is also used to keep the service working and secure — for example, so one account can never read another account's records.
The app carries no advertising, no third-party advertising trackers and no behavioural analytics. Your information is not sold or rented, and it is not shared with anyone for marketing.
AI-written report text
The app uses an AI service in one place: when a monthly report is generated, the figures it is based on — your planned and actual totals, your categories, goals and any reflection you wrote — are sent to the AI service that Base44 provides, so the written commentary around those figures can be drafted. Only the figures needed for the report are sent, and they are used to write that text, not to build an advertising profile.
Who can see your information
- You. Everything in your own account.
- A linked guardian — only after both sides confirm. A family link is created by invitation and becomes active only when the other side accepts it. Until then nobody sees anything, and either side can remove the link at any time in Settings. A guardian sees summaries of your money practice and learning progress; a parent's own account never sees another family's records.
- The app's operator, as the owner of the app's Base44 account, can technically reach stored records when needed for support, maintenance or a legal obligation.
- Service providers. The app runs on Base44, which provides the accounts, database, hosting, email delivery and AI service on the operator's behalf. Sign-in providers (Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple) are involved only in the sign-in you choose.
How long it is kept
Your records are kept while your account exists. A message sent through the contact form is kept until it has been answered and the conversation no longer needs it. Records deleted inside the app are removed from storage, and a family link stops working as soon as either side removes it.
Deleting your account and your information
You can delete your account yourself at any time: open Settings and choose Delete account, then confirm. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, your budgets and spending records, your goals, your learning progress and your side of any family link, and the account can no longer be used to sign in. Individual records can be deleted from the app without deleting the account. If you would rather have the deletion done for you, or you want to know whether anything is still held, write to us through the contact form.
Age
MoneyWise is built for 13 to 18 year olds. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13; if we learn that a younger child has created an account, that account and its records are deleted. A guardian is welcome to help set the app up, and a guardian can link to a teenager's practice once the invitation is accepted.
Security
Access to your information requires signing in, and every record in the app is restricted to the account that owns it: one signed-in user cannot read or change another user's budgets, spending, goals or progress, and a request to the app's services without a valid sign-in is refused. No system is perfect, so please use a strong password and keep it to yourself.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts collecting something new, this page is updated before that change reaches you. Questions about anything here can be sent through the contact form.
